Let’s eat!

So, what to eat in Tijuana and Baja? Mexican cuisine is known for its variety in styles and traditional dishes, depending on which part of the country you’re in, so you’re always going to find incredible and out-of-this-world flavors all around.

The always welcoming and exciting city of Tijuana has been regarded for decades as a culinary hot spot which still holds true to its delicious reputation.

From street food to fancy restaurants with historical meaning, Tijuana and Baja’s food rank very highly compared to any other major cities elsewhere. Also, the city became a melting pot of different cultures, which only makes food better and more interesting at a fast pace.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”2433″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]The number one thing that can be said for sure is that Tijuana, hands down, has the best authentic street tacos you can find.

Big statement? Not really! We’ve done our research throughout the country and we can honestly say that no other place in Mexico compares to the freshly hand-made tortillas texture and carne asada seasoning that you can find here (obviously there’s some good competition out there).

Definitely something to experience when coming down to Tijuana. Pro Tip: You can’t leave without trying carnitas tacos at Mi Chante Restaurante.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”2428″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]As for historical landmarks in Tijuana’s culinary world, this one will amaze you. Did you know that the world-famous Caesar Salad was invented in Tijuana? You read that right! It was invented by Caesar Cardini, an Italian chef back in 1924.

The most amazing part of this little fact is… you can still try the original recipe right where it was invented! The place is called Hotel Caesar’s, right in the heart of Downtown Tijuana, where you can witness how it’s done from scratch right there on your table. Definitely a mouth-watering experience and exquisite menu, worthy for our number two spot.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”2434″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]For the third spot here, you can’t talk about Tijuana’s food without mentioning fresh seafood.

If you’re like us and enjoy some delicious shrimp and octopus, then you’re in the right place! Tijuana and Rosarito are famous for their delicious ceviche and aguachile (a spicy but fresh dish that originally comes from Sinaloa that was adopted by Tijuana) and many other scrumptious dishes.

Ensenada’s fish tacos are also a unique and can’t miss experience! [/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”2430″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Now for the fourth spot, and also seafood, your trip isn’t complete without making this pit stop on your way to Ensenada, the lobster village in Puerto Nuevo. This place is all about lobster.

Each restaurant has its own style but they all give you big flour tortillas with rice and beans to go with your lobster and it’s just such a good combination. All the flavors go so well together.

Definitely a very tight race between all the options.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”2431″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]And before we go eat something, we can’t leave without mentioning Valle de Guadalupe, Baja and Mexico’s main wine producer and home of many of the country’s best chefs where you can’t go wrong at any restaurant.
